Welcome to The Local Pack

A walk should do more than burn off energy

The Local Pack isn't a quick lap around the block. Every outing is built around what your dog actually needs β€” sniffing, exploring, decompressing, and learning β€” so they come home genuinely satisfied, not just tired.

Based in Kilworth and covering Fermoy, Mitchelstown and the surrounding areas, I work especially with high-energy dogs: the ones who need a job, a challenge, and someone who understands what makes them tick.

Why The Local Pack

Not an app. A person who reads your dog.

Breed needs come first

Before asking anything of your dog, I make sure they're getting what their breed and personality actually need. That's where real change starts.

Made for high-energy dogs

The bouncy, busy, "too much" dogs are my favourite. I spend my days working out what makes them tick β€” and channelling it.

Fully insured & experienced

PBI insured, with six years in the dog world β€” much of it in rescue, and the last two focused on high-energy dogs and enrichment.

Small groups, always

Never more than five dogs, carefully matched by size, energy and personality β€” so every walk stays calm, safe and genuinely fun.

Lottie's story
"The reason nothing was working was because I wasn't meeting her needs before asking anything of her."

The Local Pack started with Kuma β€” a dog who came close to being put to sleep after a life locked in a bathroom left her struggling to cope as a pet. Trying to help her sent me down a rabbit hole of training techniques, brilliant trainers, and ethical pack walkers and daycares.

What finally clicked wasn't a clever technique. It was realising I had to meet Kuma's breed needs first β€” before setting any expectations. That lesson is the heart of everything I do now: tailor the walk to the dog in front of me, then build from there.

I've always had a foot in the dog world β€” grooming, boarding, daycare, walking and endless fostering β€” following my step-dad, who kept our house full of rescues. After my daughter was born and I was juggling solo parenting with full-time work alongside assistance dogs, I couldn't find a local walker who got it. So I went back to what I love: being outside with high-energy dogs, figuring out what makes each one tick.

Meet the pack

My three, and my reason why

Every dog I walk benefits from what these three have taught me.

The dog who started it all. Once close to being given up on, now the best girl I can trust with anything β€” and the reason The Local Pack exists.

My steady right-hand. Dobby helps desensitise and socialise dogs who are easily distracted by others β€” she genuinely helps me do my job.
